On the update I'm sure plenty will be happy with the new additions, Embark Beach in particular could be a usueful addition.
On the 7 heroes implementation I have mixed feelings on that one. Even though I like to use just henchies/heroes for VQ's, and Zaishen daily stuff (so the update will be helpful for those tasks), I do like playing with other humans in pugs for missions, elite areas etc. Can't help but feel this update will impact on that as plenty of people are just going to go 'singleplayer mode', just playing with heroes.

My only complaint - mercenaries don't come with weapons or runes. Darnit! I equipped all my heroes out, and now I need to equip my characters *again*?
Everything else is very shiny and awesome though.

Putting people on f-list for gvg purposes is nerfed.
I like the ready thing, now you don't have to spam "1".
Preliminary minion tests: minion bombing just became helluva lot easier.
Drunkard is now a sane title.
Survivor is now doable on PVE characters that have played PvP (lol 0 deaths on a PvP character).
And 7 heroes means there's no reason to use Factions & prophecies monk henches. Ever. Because they run 12/12 split with heal other. Any decent hero will outdo a bar with three 10 energy heals.
The curious thing is... 7 heroes means you still need 2 people for the deep/urgoz. Should get working on 2 man hero build to replace 3 man+ heroes...

Mercenary hero....you can use another character from your account as a hero? One of the better suggestions I and im sure others made long ago that never seemed likely.
Im surprised they didn't keep this update for the birthday celebration.

The thing i like, make that love, most about this update, is that Zahr Dalsk, the guy who was always bitching that there should be 7 heroes, got banned for botting. Thank you anet, you have made me soooo happy.

(And no, this won't make me PUG any less than I was already. I PUG when I feel like it, I H/H-ed when I feel like it, and now instead I'll use my heroes. People complaining about how this will kill PUGs can faff off, thanks).
